This snow is following me.

After last year's snowy winter in Philly, it takes a lot of snow to really get my attention.

But it is our first experience with Memphis and snow. The snow started late afternoon... they're already freaking out. It looks like Memphis will get 2-4 inches, but it may be a little bit more of a mix of snow and ice, which I think is a little more dangerous. Plus they don't have the facilities to deal with the snow. Parts of Northern Mississippi are actually expected to get more than 6 inches.

I've already received notice that we can work from home tomorrow if we are uncomfortable with the driving conditions or something like that. My problem is cmb's day care might be closed, and I will be uncomfortable with every body else's driving in these conditions... Nice that I have the option and the IT to do a lot of my work from home.

I'm also annoyed that I'm getting any snow this year AT ALL after the horribly hot summer we had. I was hoping that there was the understanding that the brutal summer meant a very mild winter. I was wrong. Oh well, I'm leaving for San Diego on Wednesday anyway.

Jim said that historically a hot summer leads to a cold winter. Mild summers give us mild winters. I guess it averages out.
Glad you could stay at home and away from those crazy, inexperienced drivers. JCPS (and many other counties including Bullitt) actually cancelled school before it snowed, in anticipation of the prediction of 2-4 inches. At 10 am, the driveway looks like it has at least 2 inches and maybe more. We have Jimmie today. Plan to keep him all day, not just half a day. He's playing trains. Really likes it.
